Daily use

Tell the customer it shipped

About 3 minutes

Turn merged work into a draft in your own Gmail, checked against the code, and let the told sweep notice when the news went out.

Transcript, 30 seconds

Shipped is not done until the customer knows.

Press Draft the email on any row in shipped and not told.

The draft lists the work that merged, checked against the code.

Create the draft in your own Gmail. We never send mail.

Send it, and the told sweep clears the row within the hour.

Captions on by default. Made from this page’s steps, with demo data only.

Before you start

  • A promise in Shipped and not told on Gaps
  • A connected Gmail, with Write drafts in Gmail allowed

Steps

  1. Open the draft. On Gaps, press Draft the email on a row. The panel The draft, before it goes opens under the lists.
  2. Check what it says. Checked against the code lists the work that merged; Still open for you lists what you must check yourself. No draft is offered until every piece of work has merged or closed.
  3. Create the draft. Press Allow drafts in my Gmail once, then Create the draft. The draft lands in your own Gmail. CommitOps never sends mail.
  4. Send it yourself. Edit and send from Gmail. Within the hour the told sweep sees the sent mail and the row leaves the list.

What success looks like

  • The draft is in your Gmail drafts, addressed at the account's domain
  • After you send it, the row leaves Shipped and not told

Troubleshooting

There is no Draft the email button
Some work behind the promise is still open, or no dated check says it merged. Open the promise and look at its Work panel.
The row says Looks told
The sweep found a weak sign, such as a meeting with the account. Press Yes, told if it covered the news, or Not that one.
