Blocking deals
Mark which promises hold up a deal, so the ledger and gaps rank work by the pipeline waiting on it, each deal counted once.
Transcript, 30 seconds
Rank work by the deals waiting on it.
Connect a CRM, or confirm the deals we read from your mail.
Tick blocks a deal when you keep a promise.
Filter the ledger to blocking a deal and sort by exposure.
Each deal counts once, however many promises it carries.
Before you start
- A connected CRM, or a deal confirmed on Connect
Steps
- Bring in deals. Connect HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce or Pipedrive on Connect. With no CRM, confirm the deals we read from your mail under Deals read from your mail, waiting for you.
- Mark a promise as blocking. On the inbox, press Edit on a candidate, tick Blocks a deal, and press Save and keep.
- Filter to what blocks. On the ledger, choose Blocking a deal and sort by exposure. Exposed is the deal amount the promise holds up.
- Read the totals. Totals count each open deal once, however many promises it carries, and only promises marked blocking add their deal to a total.
What success looks like
- Blocking a deal on the ledger lists the promises you marked
- Gaps shows an amount exposed above Promised and not started
Troubleshooting
- Exposed is empty on a promise with a deal
- Only promises marked as blocking count. Promises that mention a deal without blocking it show the pipeline for reading only.
- A deal is counted less than you expect
- A deal counts once in a total, even when three promises block it.
