Keep or discard a candidate
Decide whether a sentence is a real promise: keep it, edit it first, or discard it with a reason that teaches the queue.
Transcript, 30 seconds
Every candidate is a proposal. A person decides.
Read the exact sentence, who said it and when it is due.
Press Keep when it is a real promise, or Edit to fix it first.
Discard with a reason: already happened, or the customer asked and we did not promise.
Kept promises join the ledger with their quote and owner.
Before you start
- Candidates in the inbox, from mail or a paste
Steps
- Read the quote. Each card shows the title, its ref, how firm it is, the exact sentence in the customer's thread, who said it and when it is due.
- Keep it. Press Keep when the sentence is a promise your team made. On an exploratory card the button says Keep anyway.
- Edit before keeping. Press Edit to fix the Title, Owner, Due date or Strength, or to tick Blocks a deal, then press Save and keep.
- Discard it. Press Not a commitment, or Another reason and pick one: Already happened, The customer asked, we did not promise, Duplicate, Wrong account, or Something else. Then press Discard.
What success looks like
- The card leaves the inbox and the count in the title drops by one
- A kept promise appears on the ledger with its quote and owner
Troubleshooting
- A kept promise is not on the ledger
- Exploratory promises are kept but left out of the ledger. Edit the strength to firm or soft if it is a real commitment.
- You kept the wrong one
- Open it on the ledger and press Withdraw in the Decide panel. The history keeps both decisions.
